Create LinkedIn insights on WeDataNation!

Using tools to analyze the job market on LinkedIn can dramatically improve the process of hiring, the reach of your products, and therefore your entire brand. After all, LinkedIn is the largest social media network for professionals in the world, with nearly 830 million users.1

Despite the availability of tools and resources for evaluating the skills, job postings, and interests of one’s network or potential employees, there has been a lack of direct insight into the larger ecosystem. WeDataNation, a Web 3.0 data startup, is addressing this gap with their new analytics tool, designed specifically for LinkedIn. This tool allows you to gain a deeper understanding of the companies vying for your employees, their recruitment strategies, the demographics of the desired skillsets, and the interests and connections of those in your network.

These insights were previously difficult to obtain due to GDPR regulations. With WeDataNation’s tool, you can finally have the answers to these important questions.

Why should you perform a LinkedIn job market analysis?

Whether you’re just getting started on LinkedIn or you’re already an established employer, it’s important to look to your competitors and relevant influencers for best practices and strategies. After all, they are likely competing for the same talents as you. While you’re just getting started with marketing, your competitors are probably already targeting your ideal candidates.

In summary, there are extremely useful insights that analyzing your competition’s audience on LinkedIn can provide:

  • Demographic information (age, gender, (desired) income, location, etc.)
  • Job-related information (interests, skills, favorite influencers, groups, companies) for recruiting or marketing campaigns
  • Information about preferred times of use in order to choose the optimal time for own actions accordingly
  • Websites clicked/visited outside of LinkedIn (including categorization), for targeted ad plays
  • Inferences provided by LinkedIn based on user behavior
  • An understanding of potential needs of competitors‘ recruiting process
  • An understanding of potential needs of employees
  • An understanding of how you should communicate with your audience on the specific platforms (e.g., casual or formal)
  • And much more!

What insights can you get?

In order to graphically illustrate the possibilities of the WeDataNation analysis tool, 1,000 data records of random LinkedIn users from Germany were simulated and subsequently analyzed.

Inferences ordered by user skill for the age 25 to 34

In addition, it is possible to express specific wishes that should meet the needs of our customers as much as possible.

Example 1
You come from Berlin and would like to know which talents there are in your immediate neighborhood and how old they are.

Example 2
You are looking for new talents for your marketing team? We will tell you where to look and in which age group your perfect future employee can be found.

Example 3
You are generally looking for contacts who are actively looking for jobs?
We show you exactly with which skills they could enrich your team.

Where is the advantage compared to existing solutions?

Existing solutions already offer options for analyzing competitors and finding talents, but they are based only on publicly available information that is determined via interfaces from LinkedIn. An improvement in one’s own performance can be achieved here, for example, with a competitor analysis using LinkedIn’s proper tool.

WeDataNation’s analysis tool offers added value by analyzing information from LinkedIn, which was previously only available to the respective user, and is additionally enriched with insights from LinkedIn’s own inferences, skills, as well as other key figures.

Where does this information come from? Is WeDataNation the next ‚Cambridge Analytica‘?

In contrast to the incidents of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, where in 2014 over 50 million user data were stolen from Facebook without the consent of the respective users in order to build a system that ultimately influenced the US election, at WeDataNation we rely on the active consent of users for their respective data.

The data from LinkedIn and all other data sources used by WeDataNation is thus provided by the user on WeDataNation’s aggregation platform and evaluated exclusively with the user’s unambiguous consent. In return, the respective users participate in the revenues generated. This prevents any unconscious influence and, on the contrary, even ensures that users can actively participate in the development of certain projectors. Be it through surveys or other interactions (more on this in our upcoming article ‚Hypothesis Validation Marketplace‘).

The data provided by the respective users is combined into anonymized subgroups and placed in relation to the desired search criteria. For example, the information shown above is an exemplary evaluation of the group of people who lived in Germany to that point of time.

Additional search criteria, which for example refer to Ads clicked, demographic data or to further LinkedIn attributes, are possible and can be selected without prior knowledge by drag and drop.

Imagine, for example, that you are analyzing a group of people consisting only of female junior employees who are highly innovative, who like sustainable projects on LinkedIn, who have an income of >3,000 euros, and who tell their network more about the perks at their employer than a comparable group. The possibilities are limitless and the design options as diverse as your recruiting needs or your brand itself.

Can’t I find out this information myself?

Competitor analysis as well as job market research on LinkedIn is important. However, the way you do it is at least as important. For starters, you can track your competitors manually or use the LinkedIn search function for specific canditates. However, the disadvantage of this method would be that it is not only very time-consuming and technically demanding (HERE is an article explaining the procedure step by step), but the information presented in the previous section is not accessible to you.

With WeDataNation’s LinkedIn competitor analysis tool, you can run queries for numerous competitors in a short amount of time, giving you a holistic picture of the competitive landscape.

How can I use this tool?

The release of the analysis platform is planned for Q2 – 2023. Currently, it is under development. However, the team is already taking note of every inquiry, specific search request and interesting conversation to ensure that the needs of potential future customers are taken into account.
